Special Service Area #29 administers a street pole banner program to help business owners promote their business. The SSA also funds a facade improvement program, which works to improve the physical appeal of the commercial corridor.
The Special Service Area #29 programs are overseen by a nine member Commission. The role of the Commission is to determine the programs the SSA will fund and make recommendations for the accompanying budget. Each Commissioner must complete an application and other documents that are then submitted to the West Town Chicago Chamber of Commerce. Each candidate must also complete a Statement of Financial Interest and an Affidavit of Child Support Compliance.
